My goodness! Time has gotten away from me. It’s been so long since I updated my blog. I’ve published two stories since the last update and a third will be published very soon.
I’ve been working on my series called The Professors, which is all about sex based on or around the college setting with different characters every time. If you’ve missed them, I hope you’ll check out Letter of Recommendation, and Double Major. The most recent, Double Major, was the #15 bestselling work in Amazon’s Lesbian Fiction category for a while the week it was published.
The new book is called The Adjunct. You can click the Books link above to read all about it and the rest of my books.
Thanks for reading!
Hi, everyone! It’s been a long time, I know. Probably most of you haven’t missed me. haha Well, I’m back, and I’ve taken over my blog here. Before, my publisher was maintaining my website. I wrote the blogs and he posted them, but I’ve learned enough now to do it on my own, and MoonHowler Press has taken on more authors and doesn’t have the time to manage author websites.
I’m working on several projects. I have the second part of my Billionaire Shifter Romance series in the works, as well as two more installments of my Professors series. I’m also working on my first full-length romance novel. We’ll have to wait and see how steamy that one gets.
But I promised you free books. Today and tomorrow (July 4-5, 2017) you can download the Kindle editions of all my books for free. I hope you enjoy them. Leaving a review would be nice, as it helps Amazon show the books to other shoppers. Click here for the free books.
It’s the day of love. I hope you’re finding it in your life.
I’ve gotten a lot of lovely gifts for Valentine’s Day over the years. I’ll always remember the first one the most, though. I was only 14 years old and had been “going with” this guy for about four months. He came to my house with a heart-shaped box of chocolates and a necklace with a gold heart on a tiny chain. His mom sold Avon and I know the necklace came from Avon, so it wasn’t expensive, but he was only 15 and didn’t have an income. Anyway, I was delighted. He was so cute in that awkward, shy, teenage boy way. We ate some of the candy together and I wore the necklace for a long time, and still have it, but I don’t wear it now. I hope he’s having a happy Valentine’s Day this year, and wonder if he remembers that long-ago day he spent with me.
I’m celebrating the day by beginning work on the sequel to Bull of the Woods. Stevie just can’t find satisfaction with anyone else and can only think of returning to Nick despite the danger he presents. Isn’t that always the way with girls, though? We all want the bad boy who isn’t good for us and we think we can tame him.
Off to write now. Have a great day and a steamy night!
I’m very excited to announce that Vox Pulchris will be narrating both my first efforts at erotica for audio editions to be released through MoonHowler Press. Vox auditioned for Bull of the Woods just a couple of days after it was posted, and then auditioned for Double the Dudes for Dawn a couple of days later. Both should be out in March of this year.
If you just can’t wait for the audio, you can always download the Kindle editions here.
My second work of erotica is available now through MoonHowler Press at Amazon. I feel like I’ve improved a lot since publishing Double the Dudes for Dawn, even though that was just a couple of weeks ago. Truth be told, I’d begun that story several years ago and it was really originally done to support what I thought was a punny title, Cockfight at the Crack of Dawn (but Amazon adult-filtered that one).
Bull of the Woods is much more plot-driven. There isn’t as much sex as the first one, but I tried to make it pretty hot when the action does happen. Here’s the description from Amazon:
Stevie Linn has just left her old life behind. No job, no boyfriend, no home, and nothing but open road in front of her. Until her car breaks down on a lonely Arkansas highway. When a sleek gray Rolls Royce approaches, she stops it and finds a stunning half-naked man in the back seat.
Nick Astoria, reclusive billionaire, can’t stop himself from letting the attractive damsel in distress into his car, his home, and his life. But his dark secret is too dangerous. Can he keep her? Can she lift the curse he lives under? Or will she simply be the next victim of the monster that lives inside him?
From Monday, Jan. 25, through Wednesday, Jan. 28, MoonHowler Press is making Bull of the Woods free to download. Click here to get it for free during this time, or to buy it after Wednesday. This book includes an excerpt of my first story.
Reviews would be greatly appreciated!
Amazon.com is a capricious lover. As stated before, Cockfight at the Crack of Dawn was adult filtered, so I changed the title and slightly altered the cover. After doing that, I finally got a response to my first inquiry asking for advice on having the adult tag removed. This is what I got:
Your title is live in the Kindle Store; you can view the book’s detail page here:
We reserve the right to make judgments about whether or not content is appropriate; this can include the cover image or the content within the book. We have found your Kindle book contains adult content.
Books with adult content will not surface in general product searches, as there are also children that browse Amazon, but will surface in general Kindle searches for customers that choose to allow adult content.
I thank you for your time and understanding and wish you all the best for the new year!
This didn’t acknowledge the changes I’d made, so I messaged Amazon again … and got no response.
So, I completely changed the book’s title, made a new cover, and republished it with the same interior content, the same cover description, in the same genre, with the same keywords.
Success! No adult filter on the new version. Go figure. You can get the book here.
You can’t learn to swim until you actually get into the water. You can read about it. You can watch others do it, but it’s all theory until you jump in.
I learned my first practice-based lesson yesterday. Amazon KDP hid my story Cockfight at the Crack of Dawn for reasons they have not yet disclosed to me. Some folks in the erotica community offered some suggestions, so I renamed the book and altered the cover a little. Hopefully it remains visible to searches now.
You can get it free for a couple of days by clicking here. After Tuesday night you’ll have to pay for it.
Hello! This is my journey in the world of writing and publishing erotic fiction. You won’t find this is later posts, or in the About page, but I’ll confess it here: Kimber Haig is not my real name. I am a published author in other genres and, more importantly, hold a job where it would not be well received to learn I am writing smut.
Having done a lot of research on the market, I published my first piece of erotic fiction today at Amazon.com. It has zero sales as of this writing. In fact, I can’t even get the title to come up when I search using the title, author name, or ASIN. Perhaps I’ve done something wrong. Or maybe that’s just because it’s new. Click the cover at the end of this post (or click here) to buy it (warning 1: It will be free to download from Sunday, Jan. 3 to Tuesday, Jan. 5; warning 2: not for readers under 18 years of age!)
According to best-selling erotica author Pandora Box, once I publish 30 titles I should be earning about $1,000 per month. We’ll see. I’ll keep you posted on how that’s going.
